 er:\n\nRichard Bell is a scholar\, writer\, and teacher at the University 
 of Maryland. His research focuses on the history and culture of the United
  States between 1750 and 1877. He is the author of the new book The Americ
 an Revolution and the Fate of the World (Riverhead Books)\, Stolen: Five F
 ree Boys Kidnapped into Slavery and Their Astonishing Odyssey Home (Simon 
 &amp\; Schuster) and of two major online courses for The Great Courses (Wo
