DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin us in welcoming Dexter Harpist\, Carol Kappus as she d
 iscusses her musical journey as an award-winning Celtic harper and singer 
 specializing in the music of Scotland. Carol will discuss her passion for 
 life\, music and her Scottish culture.  Come meet this talented musician 
 who proudly calls Dexter her home.\n\nAbout the presenter:\n\nCarol Kappus
  plays and sings traditional songs\, songs of Robert Burns\, and songs in 
 Scots Gaelic. She teaches and performs in the Midwest and Scotland. She ha
 s studied Scots Gaelic at the Atlantic Gaelic Academy and Sabhal Mòr Osta
 ig on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. She has won several Scottish Harp Soci
 ety of America and Scottish Mòd competitions and does her own arrangement
 s of the songs she performs. She has published many books of her composit
 ions and arrangements and her articles and arrangements appear frequently 
 in Folk Harp Journal.\n\nThis program will be in the Library’s lower-lev

 r District Library’s yearlong Bicentennial program - “We Are Dexter.
 ” Every month from January through December the Library will host a prog

 ls who have a hobby\, talent\, experience or story that makes them part of
  the fabric of our town.
