 an KNOW that Ohio is the worst state? It is a rivalry that well predates f
 ootball. Explores how a disputed strip of swampy land nearly sparked a sho
 oting war between Ohio and the Michigan Territory\, shaping both states’
  identities in the process. Learn how political maneuvering\, a militia st
 andoff\, and a presidential compromise ultimately cost Michigan Toledo\, b
 ut granted it the vast\, mineral-rich wilderness of Isle Royale and the Up
 per Peninsula.\n\nAbout the presenter:\n\n\n\nAndrew Kercher has a degre
 e in history and Philosophy from Albion College and a MS in Historic Prese
 rvation from EMU. He has worked at museums around the state\, living in t
 he Straits of Mackinac for nearly a decade. He is currently the Community 
 Engagement Manager in his home town of Port Huron where he lives with his 
 wife and two wonderful cats\, Gilbert and Sullivan. When not talking about
  history\, he can usually be found working on his 1958 Packard or antique 
 firearm collection.\n\nThis program will be in the Library’s lower-level
