DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin historian Andrew Kercher and hear a firsthand account 
 of what it is like to live an entire year on Mackinac Island.\n\nAs a secu
 rity guard\, for the Grand Hotel\, Andrew Kercher experienced life on the 
 Island after the tourist leave and the Island quiets down for the winter. 
 Experience the beauty of the Island in all four seasons\, learn the secret
 s of the Grand Hotel and discover what it is like to live like a local.\n\
 nAbout the presenter:\n\nAndrew Kercher has a B.A. in History and Philos
 ophy from Albion College and a M.S. in Historic Preservation from Eastern
  Michigan University. He has worked at museums around the state\, living i
 n the Straits of Mackinac for nearly a decade. He is currently the Communi
 ty Engagement Manager in his home town of Port Huron where he lives with h
 is wife and two wonderful cats\, Gilbert and Sullivan. When not talking ab
 out history\, he can usually be found working on his 1958 Packard or antiq
 ue firearm collection.\n\nThis program will be in the Library’s Lower Le
