SUMMARY:MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join us on either September 27\, October 2 or October 6\, 2024\
 , when over 100\,000 film lovers in over 250 cities across six continents 
 gather in Cinemas\, Museums\, Libraries and Universities for one purpose..
 .to view and vote on the Finalists' Films in the 27th Annual MANHATTAN SHO
 RT Film Festival.\n\nUpon entry\, festival attendees are handed a Voting C
 ard and an Official Program. Attendees will view (10) short films and will
  vote for the ONE Film and Actor they feel should win.  Votes are tallied
  by each host venue then emailed to MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival’s NYC 
 headquarters.\n\nAll films selected will be eligible for an Oscar nominati
 on. MANHATTAN SHORT does a full week's run in one Cinema in the county of 
 Los Angeles. This theatre booking means every film selected as a Finalist 
 in the 2024 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will be eligible to enter the Os
 cars. MANHATTAN SHORT is now in compliance with the rules governing the Os
 car Awards set forth by the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Science
 s. A.M.P.A.S.\n\nMANHATTAN SHORT films have been to the Oscars before!  M
 any past Finalists from MANHATTAN SHORT have been nominated for an Oscar (
 SHOK and Bear Story from 2015\, to name just two). Our audiences and ci
 nemas love nothing more than seeing a film they voted for at MANHATTAN SHO
 RT at the Oscars. Once a nominee is announced\, our partnering cinemas and
  loyal audiences champion those films and filmmakers through social media 
 all the way to the podium!\n\nThis program will be repeated on Wednesday\,
  October 2\, 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday\, October 6 at 2:00 p.m.   This pro
 gram will last approximately 2 hours\, 36 minutes with an 8-minute intermi
 ssion. You will view 10 short films.  This program is for adults.  These
  films have not been rated.\n\nPlease register online at the Library’s E
 vents Calendar\, at the Adult Service desk or call the library at 734-426-
 4477. This program will be in the Library’s Lower Level meeting room.\n"
