DESCRIPTION:Join us on either September 29\, October 3 or October 8\, 2023
 \, when over 100\,000 film lovers in over 250 cities across six continents
  gather in Cinemas\, Museums\, Libraries and Universities for one purpose.
 ..to view and vote on the Finalists' Films in the 26th Annual MANHATTAN SH
 ORT Film Festival.\n\nUpon entry\, festival attendees are handed a Voting 
 Card and an Official Program. Attendees will view (10) short films and wil
 l vote for the ONE Film and Actor they feel should win.  Votes are tallie
 d by each host venue then emailed to MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival’s NYC
  headquarters.\n\nAll films selected will be eligible for an Oscar nominat
 ion. MANHATTAN SHORT does a full week's run in one Cinema in the county of
  Los Angeles. This theatre booking means every film selected as a Finalist
  in the 2023 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will be eligible to enter the O
 scars. MANHATTAN SHORT is now in compliance with the rules governing the O
 scar Awards set forth by the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Scienc
 es. A.M.P.A.S.\n\nMANHATTAN SHORT films have been to the Oscars before!  
 Many past Finalists from MANHATTAN SHORT have been nominated for an Oscar 
 (SHOK and Bear Story from 2015\, to name just two). Our audiences and c
 inemas love nothing more than seeing a film they voted for at MANHATTAN SH
 ORT at the Oscars. Once a nominee is announced\, our partnering cinemas an
 d loyal audiences champion those films and filmmakers through social media
  all the way to the podium!\n\nThis program will be repeated on Tuesday\, 
 October 3\, 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday\, October 8 at 2:00 p.m.   This prog
 ram will last approximately 2.5 hours with a 10-minute intermission. You w
 ill view 10 short films.  This program is for adults.  These films have 
 not been rated.\n\nPlease register online at the Library’s Events Calend
 ar\, at the Adult Service desk or call the library at 734-426-4477. This p
